Javi Lopez has denounced in Parliament in Strasbourg that “poverty is not just a statistic,” but “has a huge social impact.” This is a phenomenon that “distorts the economy and disconnected from the institutions to many people” and whose seriousness is evident, as “one in four Europeans” is poor, a figure that rises to “one in three” in the case of Spain.

During the debate, Javi Lopez has said that the best tool to solve this scourge is a European minimum income system “to protect citizens” to ensure “a dignified life” to all people.
